The dictionary defines magic as the power to influence the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces. Not David Blaine pretending to float, not the recovering alcoholic at your kid’s birthday party pulling a rabbit out of a hat – real honest-to-goodness MAGIC... or MAGIK... or MAGICK... however you want to spell it. And while we see examples of it all the time in fictional pop culture (looking at you Harry Potter), the question persists: is MAGIC real? This week we study the history, look at some examples, and pull the answer out of…somewhere.
