Podcaster

Kevin Crispin is a Mental Health Advocate, Podcaster, Public Speaker, Actor, and Writer. As someone who has suffered from severe anxiety, Kevin uses his life experiences to shed a light on Mental Health as well as work to connect people through kindness, humor, and empathy. He is the host of the weekly podcast Behind Beautiful Things.

Each week on Behind Beautiful Things, he has a kind and generous guest who comes on and tells difficult stories from their lives. He believes that difficult stories are universal, but are not universally told. To be aware of our own fear and anxiety and depression can allow us room for the grace and kindness to understand that our fellow humans are dealing with a version of the exact same thing.

He believes each of us is a collection of stories, and that stories are the great healing currency of humankind: the more we hear, the more we heal.

He believes in kindness, he believes in humor, he runs from tornado sirens.

Episode 500!

Five hundred episodes. That's either an incredible achievement or a cry for professional help. To celebrate this historic milestone, Hysteria 51 is opening a dimensional rift and welcoming back some familiar faces, questionable characters, and at least one entity that should probably still be trapped between realities. Thanks to Conspiracy Bot's complete disregard for common sense, time, space, and basic safety protocols, old friends return, ancient grudges resurface, and the very fabric o...

CIA Mind Games & the Mystery Box of Body Parts | 456

This week on Hysteria 51, we’re cracking open boxes—and secrets—that should have stayed sealed. First up, a Canadian woman is suing the CIA after claiming she was experimented on at age 16 as part of a secret mind control project. Think MK-Ultra, but with a teenage twist. Spoiler alert: It does not end with a high school diploma and a nice internship. Then we double down on disturbing deliveries as another woman receives a package she didn’t order: a box of human body parts instead of her ...

Beautiful Blurry Hysteria: Boozy Apes & Alien Comets | 441

Brent’s out sick (again—we suspect “banana flu”), so Kevin Crispin of Behind Beautiful Things returns to the co-host seat, bravely facing the weird without a net or a breathalyzer. First up: were our primate ancestors a bunch of jungle drunks? New research says our ability to metabolize alcohol might trace back to apes that got buzzed on fermented fruit. Evolution’s happy hour, anyone? Then we cast our bleary eyes skyward at Comet 3I (aka ATLAS), which some folks think might not be a comet...
